Tutor Training Workshop Information

Tutors are fully trained and certified in the Laubach Method of adult education. This is an internationally acclaimed approach used in teaching the adult learner. The workshop is given by the Dominican Literacy Center staff in a relaxed and enjoyable environment where volunteers gain skills and confidence to effectively assist a learner. Tutors have an opportunity to meet other interesting people from various work and life experiences.    It is offered free for Dominican Literacy Center volunteers.

Tutor Training Workshops are held in January, October and May on a Friday evening and on Saturday from      9:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M. Twelve workshop hours are required for Laubach Certification. See Calendar below for workshop dates.

Workshop Schedule:
Friday: 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
