Nutrition Workshop
Every Tuesday from May 17-July 5
5:30-7:30 p.m. - The purpose of this series is to inform students of the nutritional value of food in hopes of preventing health related illnesses and also improving their quality of life. The Nutrition Workshop looks to empower residents of the city of Detroit with the knowledge to make healthy choices concerning their diets and lifestyles without the hefty costs of medical expenses and education.

Employment Workshop

6 p.m.- 8 p.m - The purpose of this series is to prepare our ABE and ESL students to be competent employees in the workforce of the 21st Century while also giving them the opportunity to sharpen their reading skills. Students will learn how to use communication skills, interpersonal skills, decision-making skills and lifelong learning skills in order to successfully carry out critical tasks for entry-level positions, which include acquiring and using information, using technology and systems, working with others, demonstrating integrity and responsibility, knowing how to learn, allocating resources, solving problems and displaying self-management. Students will leave this series of workshop better equipped to perform at a higher level of competency in any new or current job situation.
